This week on Young Turks we bring you 3 sparkling entrepreneurs from the gems and jewellery industry in India.

Meet Vishal Doshi of the over 100 year old Shrenuj Group, one of India’s oldest diamond polishing businesses. Joining the business in 2001 Vishal added verticals like diamond jewellery manufacturing and was also responsible for the group’s global foray. With over 500 franchisees and 72 exclusive stores across India and China Vishal is now hoping to hit the Rs 5000 Cr revenue mark by 2015.

Catch Ajay Kakadia who is giving his traditional gems and jewelry business a branded high street makeover with his brand Kiah. A part of the 1500 Cr Sheetal group the world’s largest polisher of diamonds Kiah today has 6 exclusive stores across India and Dubai. Partnering with international diamond trading companies like De Beers, Rio Tinto and Alrosa Kiah grossed revenues of Rs 128 Cr last year.

And meet Suman Mishra who decided to start up with silver! She launched her brand Suman Mishra Jewellery in 2008. Having already designed over 10 collections for her brand, Suman retails her jewellery across 3 stores in India. Ranging from Rs 1800 to Rs 9000 a piece, the label has grossed revenues over Rs 18 lakh.Suman now has plans to reach out to major cities in India and also take her brand global by next year.
