And so Deven converted his family run cinema hall into a 4 screen theatre in 2000. Today Satyam Cineplexes boasts of 17 screens and 4 multiplexes across India and hasgrossed a turnover of Rs 65 Cr booking profits of over Rs 7 Cr. Having already raised Rs 50 Cr through private equity last year Deven is now looking at a second round of funding and is also eyeing an IPO by 2012.

Catch Rajiv Hiranandani of who decided to bet big on the mobile VAS opportunity in India. His venture Altruist-Mobile2Win provides SMS, voice and WAP solutions to major brands and media companies. Having already launched over 300 campaigns for over 160 brands Altruist-Mobile2Win help its clients launch competitions and voting campaigns through its wide array of contests and interactivity products. Reaching out to 220 mobile users the venture enjoys a 90% market share in the voice chat and social networking space. Rajiv now has plans to roll out his social networking application across 10 countries in the next 8 months.

With the game currently ranked world number 1, the venture already has over 5 lakh registered users.
