The only B-School in India to allow candidates to apply for admissions even after XAT scores are declared
LIBA (Loyola Institute of Business Administration), one of the India’s Premiere management institutes to consistently rank in the Top 10, announced February 20, 2011 to be the closing date for their 2-year full time Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). The program has students from across the country vying for just 120 coveted seats. One may obtain application form even after their XAT 2010 results are declared. Applying students, in several thousands, are put through a rigorous admission process that involves the usual requirement of XAT admission test, GD and PI. The carefully chosen students then may look forward to benefit from top notch academic inputs and value based education powered by highly qualified industry experienced faculty, student exchange facilities, research inputs from several Centres of Excellence such as the Centre for Behavioral Science, Centre for Entrepreneurship, etc, one of Asia’s best stocked library, a campus life that balances Chennai’s traditionalism and modernism and last but not the least 100% placement in blue-chip firms.
Talking about the process of admission, Fr. Christie, Director, LIBA said, “Given the scale and proliferation of corruption these times, high stress levels among the managerial workforce, and paucity of crucial managerial talent, we place importance to both academic excellence and moral values. We believe in grooming tomorrow’s leaders with passion, confidence, self - discipline and a drive for excellence and ethics. Our unique system of accepting application even after the XAT results are declared ensures only students that fall above the cut off marks apply. It ensures, on the one hand, quality applications for LIBA and on the other hand, it saves several students that do not have the minimum XAT score unnecessary expenditure.”
Commenting on the campus life, Kiran, a current student of the program, says “LIBA has students from across India and abroad. It inculcates the spirit of cross culture compatibility. The program is rigorous; yet the life at campus is a great mix of academics, corporate exposure, even global exposure, conferences, business plan contests, and other club activities. The sylvan campus is remarkable for providing quietude for academic pursuits and yet is a powerhouse of action. I can never forget the two-years that I have spent here.”
“LIBA has always achieved 100% placement. This year, the average pay packet is close to Rs. 9 lacs”, says Subramanian K.S, a recent alumnus the PGDM program, “LIBA has prepared me well. The way I am valued at the place I work is a pointer towards why placements at LIBA are increasingly becoming one of the best.”
