Polama.Com, The World’s First “Holiday Package” Comparison Portal Launched

The recently launched Polama.com, is the world’s first ‘Holiday Package’ comparison portal allowing access to more than 3000 holidays currently with this number growing every week. Providing a vital tool for holiday search, it is free to use and features comparison of holiday choices from several holiday providers like MakeMyTrip, Yatra, Travel Tours, SOTC, TravelPort,etc. While it currently targets the Indian market, plans are afoot to go global.The filtering process is based on price, number of days, affiliates, user interests and specific destinations to name a few and it provides an advanced search where one can specify price range, number of days, holiday interests etc.

MD Ramaswami, one of the founders of the company says, “finding the options, making enough sense out of them to compare is time consuming and painstakingly difficult and so we thought that we should give them a product on a platter that makes it so much easier to plan”. Dilip Panicker, the co founder says “at Polama, we don't sell holiday packages. We help find one that fits the user’s taste and budget - easily and quickly. Whereas it can typically take around 16 hours from start to actually booking a holiday using traditional search processes and platforms, this process can be reduced to as little as 5 minutes with the comparison features of Polama.”

The brainchild of the two classmates and alumni of IIT Madras who are avid travelers themselves, Polama was conceived when they decided to leverage their strong technical background to build an internet portal to make the process of searching for and comparing holiday options easier for users.
