Alex Moore, Baydin Boomerang - Scheduled Sending and Reminders on Gmail

Baydin Boomerang for Gmail helps you organize your e-mail by letting you receive messages at the time you need them and send messages at the perfect time. Boomerang helps you keep your inbox clean without forgetting to follow up on important messages. It makes it easy to focus on messages and tasks that need attention now, without getting distracted by everything else in your inbox.Baydin was founded in May 2009 and participated in the TechStars Boston program during the summer of 2009. The Baydin team consists of Alex Moore and Mike Chin. Alex graduated from MIT in 2005 and spent three years at Analog Devices, building circuits to let you change inputs on your HDTV. Mike graduated from Dartmouth in 2010. Alex talks answers a few questions about baydin.

Boomerang is a service for Outlook and Gmail that allows you to make sure the timing of your email is always perfect. Schedule an email to go out at exactly the right time, or schedule a message to return to your inbox when you're ready to take action.

The Email Game can save you an hour a day of email despair. It replaces a traditional mail client with one that is designed to help you make decisions and triage quickly, be more responsive, and enjoy communicating with others. After a session of the Email Game, you'll be done faster, feel on top of your email, and be excited about the rest of your day.

Why did you want to focus on email ?

Email is the backbone of how we communicate. We all spend upwards of half an hour a day in it, and for many of us, it's the first thing we see in the morning and the last thing we see before we sleep. Plus, it's flexible and powerful enough to allow some amazing things to get developed.

While Boomerang is in beta, we are using a pay-what-you-feel-is-fair pricing model.

Send an email later

With Boomerang, you can write an email now and schedule it to be sent automatically at the perfect time. Just write the message as you normally would, then click the Send Later button. Use our handy calendar picker or our text box that understands language like "next Monday" to tell Boomerang when to send your message. We'll take it from there.

The best follow up reminders

Use Boomerang to take messages out of your inbox until you actually need them. Just click the Boomerang button when you have an email open, and choose when you need it again. Boomerang will archive the message. At the time you chose, we'll bring it back to your inbox, marked unread, starred, or even at the top of your message list.

Remind you if you don't hear back

There are times you need to make sure you follow up within a specific time frame after sending a message. You can select to only be reminded if nobody replies, or regardless. This way you won't let messages slip through the crack and will never forget to follow up with people.

Magic Feature : If you get an email that describes a date or a time, Boomerang offers to return the message at exactly the right time with just one click! For example, if you get an email that describes a meeting at 4pm on Thursday Boomerang will automatically suggest returning the message 2 hours before - so you have time to prepare for the meeting and have the location and details handy when you arrive.
