How great would it be if you got the best-fitting candidate in 30 seconds flat? Prabakaran Murugaiah, CEO of Corp-Corp, bets on his fetch function (otherwise called highly automated relevant candidate recommendation system) to help IT companies get the best-fitting resumes for a job, position or project on the Corp-Corp’s global platform in just 30 seconds. What’s more, if a company is looking for 100 candidates or more, Corp-Corp platform will make it easy by integrating the company’s platform with its platform for that specific need in quickly sorting out the resumes received. The No. 2 technology job portal in the US with 6,000 IT & Consulting staffing companies generates 45,000 new jobs each month and 2 million users access the portal for their job needs. Now Corp-Corp has gone global with its global platform launch on Friday (22 July 2011) at Chennai. “With the growing demand for the IT sector in India and globally, better utilization of current available resources is the best and only option for companies to meet their demand. Corp-Corp global tech job portal is highly customized and fine tuned very specific to current technology market demand and supply as well as candidate’s personal preferences. This will create big opportunities for US and India based consulting and staffing companies to collaborate and provide services globally,” says Prabakaran, on the global launch of Corp-Corp.
The companies registering on the Corp-Corp are charged a nominal fee whereas the candidates are not charged. Candidates who want to work globally can register their resume at Corp-Corp.com and receive relevant project or positions automatically based on their personal preference and experience. Outside the US, Corp-Corp intends to work with joint venture partners in many countries to source tech talent for companies as well as create opportunities for tech talent.
Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice Chairman of Cognizant Technology Solutions, launched the global platform of Corp-Corp and ReturntoIndia.com, a service to help people returning to India from the US. Corp-Corp is offering this service in partnership with Yelelo.com, founded by Raghu Rajagopal, founder of Energeate, and Lavanya Ganesh. Corp-Corp’s recent survey showed that 50% of people (among 1800 interviewed) wanted to return to India.
Lakshmi Narayanan quoted two authors, Daniel Pink and Linda Granton, to show the shift in recruitment trends in the West. Daniel Pink, who tracks global trends, feels that Western countries are going to be involved in design, storytelling and those sort of creative jobs and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) would be in demand rather than an MBA. Linda Granton finds that with life expectancy hitting 70 years, 60 years for a job would be still considered young, reflecting the ageing workforce in the West, between 2020 and 2025. This presents opportunities for the East.
Prabakaran explained how the Corp-Corp platform works by demonstrating through a mail that he sent to the search engine. In 30 seconds, best-fitting resumes were sent back in the reply mail. So the search eliminates manual search, saving an enormous amount of time to the extent of 30%.
Raghu Rajagopal, who will head ReturntoIndia.com, explained how Yelelo.com helped many people in the US fulfil their various needs in India such as finding a new property to buy, assisting in parent’s surgery, getting maids and drivers on return, facilitating smooth conduct of marriages, among many other services. Legal consulting is also offered. ReturntoIndia.com will assist returnees find jobs, start new businesses, and manage existing businesses and also identify senior executives for businesses.
As an entertainment quotient at the end of the launch, music flowed from the piano of Anil Srinivasan (renowned musicologist) and the melodious voice of Sikkil Gurucharan (a Carnatic music vocalist), who rendered their fusion music, delighting the audience with four choicest songs. Anil Srinivasan’s narration was as enjoyable as his music. The entertainment just didn’t stop here and continued with two Tamil film stars, Prasanna and Sneha (a senior female actor), who essayed a role in a film that depicted the trials and tribulations of a software engineer working in the US, who also were invited to interact with the audience.
