Kobster.com Launches Today to Meet All Your Office Supply Needs
Launched today at 4pm, Kobster.com is an ecommerce website that caters to all small and medium enterprises, startups and home businesses for their office supply needs. Started by three college batch mates from SRM University, Chennai – Vineet, Mohan and Karthik, Kobster was born from the absence of an organized and established office supplies brand in the market. While Staples has been around in India for the last 5years, they have no online presence. The founders of Kobster believe that since Staples focuses on blue chip companies, Kobster’s target segment will also be a differentiating factor for them in the market.
Bringing in the founders’ previous IT experience from HCL and Cognizant, Kobster’s website has been developed with an inbuilt management system for the supplies. This Chennai based startup offers 1200+ office supply products including 700 stationery products, 300 electronics products and 150+ cleaning/break room products. Mode of payments available with this website include COD, Net transfer, NEFT and RTGS apart from accepting cheques and DD payments. Corporate companies also get an offer to buy with a 21 days credit period. This offer can be availed after Kobster verification.
They are tied up with 20+ brands like Reynolds, Solo, Godrej, Camel, HP, Giraffe, Lenovo, etc for office supplies. Kobster has also tied up with two courier companies – DTDC and Aramex for delivery. Currently this startup maintains a stock for the products that are most likely to be fast selling, while other products will be procured based on orders. Initially they are marketing through online media and through Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. They also plan on using GoogleAds to increase visibility.
As for competition, Kobster faces stiff opposition from startups like Officyes.com, Oneclickonecall.com etc. However the founders have placed their bets on the strong product line with wide range products which they believe is likely to get strengthened with the launch of their office furniture category, next month. “Our competitors are ahead of us by 4-5months but going forward we believe we will be in a better position. Our future vision includes schools as well since their demands are similar,” says Vineet, Co-Founder, Kobster.com
This bootstrapped company envisions itself becoming the number one company in the office space category. “We want to be known as a brand for A to Z products,” says Mohan. Kobster is currently looking for seed funding.
