Friday April 11, 2014 , 1 min Read

Unconventional, spontaneous, vivacious and straight forward are some of the words which describe Kalki Koechlin. With her super impressive performance at the India Today Conclave recently she has the attention of the entire nation.

Kalki has made her mark in the industry and has strongly stood up for causes related to feminism. She is an excellent writer and theatre artist. Daughter of an aeronautical engineer and a teacher, Kalki was involved in arts and theater since her childhood. She gave her first performance when she was just six years old.

Kalki did her BA in fine arts and theater studies from London. She also taught dyslexic children and children with other learning disabilities there, along with working as a waitress for a while. When she returned to India, she started modeling and took up other creative pursuits before she landed up in Bollywood.

YourStory got up close and personal with Kalki to know what inspires and motivates her.
