Online healthcare platform Practo launches diagnostic search across 8 cities
Online healthcare giant Practo has expanded its offering beyond doctor search to enable consumers to find the closest diagnostic center for the tests they want. With this, consumers can search by tests (instead of lab name), check lab accreditation, filter results by location, home pickup and compare test prices.

Practo is currently the largest doctor search engine in Asia and this launch is a part of Practo’s strategy to become the single health window for consumers across curative, preventive, fitness and wellness segments. At present, it has on-boarded nearly 4,000 labs across eight cities.
The new feature will allow users to check the quality of the lab by reading through the accreditation information, see real high-quality photographs and filter results by proximity, home pickup facility as well as price.
Consumers can also filter to see which labs offer a digital report. In the near future, Practo will enable consumers to get their reports in the Practo app automatically instead of having to collect it from the center or get it via email. Shashank ND, Founder & CEO, Practo, said:
This is the first of our upcoming launches to cover curative, fitness and well segments as we march towards achieving Practo’s promise of being ‘Your Health App’. Diagnostic search will provide tremendous convenience and a much simplified way of finding the right center to get your tests done. Never before have consumers been able to get such detailed information about labs instantly, and wherever they might be – whether exiting a clinic or from the comfort of their home.
The Bangalore-based company had secured $30 million from Sequoia Capital and Matrix Partners in February this
year. Started in 2009, Practo has been one of the first players to integrate IT and healthcare with their online practice management software.Recommended read: Practo is hungry to hire, plans to on-board 1000 employees in 2015
