MSME ministry has prepared industrial profile of 652 districts under India's skill mapping project
Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra announced in Gandhinagar that his ministry has prepared industrial profile of 652 districts under the skill mapping project. These details, according to Mishra, would help new entrepreneurs select the best location as per their business needs. "We have completed skill mapping of 652 districts of our country, under which we have prepared industrial profiles of each of these districts and put it on a CD. It will help entrepreneurs find the most suitable place to locate their business", Mishra said.
"The profile carries details like number of training institutes and engineering colleges in each district, availability of various raw materials and types of existing industries in that district. Entrepreneurs can contact us to get the data". He was in town to distribute 'Make in India Awards for Excellence 2015' organised by Krazy Mantra, a Gujarat-based infotech solution firm.
"At present, there are 18 tool rooms, which are also called technology centres in India. We plan to open 15 more to train at least 1 lakh people", Mishra said. He also let out details about a credit guarantee scheme launched by his ministry to help MSME entrepreneurs get loans. "It's difficult for MSMEs to get bank loans. Thus, we have created a Credit Guarantee Trust fund with a corpus of Rs 85,000 crore. If a bank denies loan to a small businessman, we will give credit guarantee to the bank on his behalf", Mishra said.
