Real-time analytics and mobile engagement platform WizRocket has secured $8 million new funding round led by Sequoia India and Accel Partners. The company will use proceedings to grow the industry’s first prescriptive engagement platform and a ‘naked API’ that offers developers unprecedented, code-level access to customizing user experiences.

The platform enables developers to build one mobile app that creates multiple dynamic experiences for users and supports brands with smart campaigns. It also claims to build the industry’s largest free messaging tier.
The company’s intelligent platform helps marketers make sense of user behaviour on their app. They can apply this knowledge to customize the user experience. Anand Jain, Co-Founder, WizRocket, said

Prior to this round, the Mumbai and Palo Alto - based company had raised $1.6 million seed round by Accel Partners. Through its lightweight SDK, WizRocket lets users to uninstall data and advanced customer segmentation, gives marketers and developers the next generation of mobile app functionality.
Importantly, WizRocket’s technology is capable to analyse more than a 250 million events in less than a second.

The brainchild of Anand, Sunil Thomas (Ex Network18, Infospace and Microsoft) and Suresh Kondamudi (IIT-M, Ex Network18, and Ji Grahak) WizRocket is currently in private-beta. At present, it has over 300 global customers including Snapdeal owned Freecharge, Zovi, Disqus and Pricebaba amongst several others in e-commerce, publishing, ticketing and other mobile app segment.
The company competes with Appboy, Capptain, Urban Airship and Localystics, however WizRocket as a product has a very wide scope — it deals with segmentation, analytics and targeting. After this new round WizRocket will spread its wings to more global markets with strong focus on Indian market which is going through mobile revolution.
