Calling product and hardware design firms to participate in the Qualcomm® Design in India challenge

Calling product and hardware design firms to participate in the Qualcomm® Design in India challenge

Tuesday December 15, 2015 , 2 min Read

If you’re a hardware or product design company with a world-class idea looking for engineering, technical and funding support, register for the Qualcomm® Design in India challenge today

When the world talks about technology and India in the same sentence, it’s usually to refer to the applications we help develop, the services and support we provide and our general comfort with all things based on tech and maths. That list is all set to get a lot more impressive, with the type of boost that hardware design has just received. Qualcomm® recently announced its Design in Indian challenge that promises to create and nurture a product and hardware design ecosystem, directly supporting the government’s vision of Make in India.

The Qualcomm® Design in India challenge, in association with NASSCOM, has set out to discover the best and brightest product design and development companies in the country. Up to 10 companies will be shortlisted by March 2016, each of which will win $10,000 in prize money.

That’s just the beginning. These companies will then be invited to the Qualcomm® Innovation Lab in Bangalore, where their ideas will be nurtured and incubated over six months. During this time, they will get the type of dedicated technical and engineering support that is simply unavailable anywhere else in the country. Qualcomm® promises to provide mentoring and guidance to each shortlisted company to help them take their product to a stage where it is a viable and scalable proposition.

Upto three of the best and most successful products – as judged by an eminent jury comprising seasoned industry professionals – will be selected as winners of the competition and win prize money of upto $100,000 each.
