Nasscom launches Startup Warehouse at the T-Hub to provide co-working space for startups
The IT industry needs to look for "new opportunities" amidst various problems and challenges facing the sector, Nasscom president R Chandrasekhar has said.
"Yes there are problems and challenges. At the same time there are new opportunities available. As the Indian IT industry has been involved in more than 80 countries, the prospects for the industry are still quite strong. Nasscom launches Startup Warehouse to provide co-working space for entrepreneurs. The IT industry needs to look for "new opportunities" amidst various problems and challenges facing the sector, Nasscom president R Chandrasekhar has said.
He also said startups will play an important role in employment generation and will offer solutions to some sectors such as education, healthcare and energy. Replying to a query on the budget wish list, the Nasscom chief said the industry is awaiting fine print of many tax related issues during the upcoming Union budget.
Meanwhile, Nasscom also launched a "Startup Warehouse" at the T-Hub in partnership with the Telangana government, which will provide co-working space for startups. Nasscom has initiated start-up warehouses across different states under its 10,000 startups programme to create a micro-ecosystem where many start-ups and entrepreneurs can work together and share their experiences.
The first start-up warehouse was set up in Bengaluru in 2013, followed by warehouse in other cities including Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Kochi and Gurgaon. Nasscom 10,000 start-up program is now looking to launch this facility in other emerging cities in partnership with their respective governments.
Speaking on the occasion Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao said the state government may unveil the IT Policy during the second week of next month.having said that it is not the same opportunity as before and the companies have to make a lot of changes to be able to address the new opportunities," Chandrasekhar said on the sidelines of a Nasscom event here.
