YourStory Startup Spotlight : How to raise venture capital money for your IOT venture

YourStory Startup Spotlight : How to raise venture capital money for your IOT venture

Wednesday February 10, 2016 , 2 min Read

By 2020, 50 billion devices will be connected via the Internet of Things (IoT) from just 15 billion devices today, according to a report by Cisco. The global IoT market is expected to grow to $1.7 trillion in 2020 from $655.8 billion at present.

Can we afford to ignore this big opportunity?

Worldwide, a number of IoT impact areas and sectors have already been identified and many will apply to India on a large scale, such as transport, wellness, healthcare, buildings, home, factories, agriculture, livestock, electric grids, water supply networks, and of course, individual consumers. Portals for managing this information and operating these services will be run by individuals, organisations and the industry.

Overall, IoT is a hardware, software and telecom play meant to collectively bring about improved productivity, risk management, real-time decision-making and new waves of innovation.
