Reliance Industries backed startup GenNext Hub partners with Invest Ottawa
Reliance Industries-backed startup programme GenNext Hub today entered into a partnership with Invest Ottawa for creating a bridge to engage innovative startups from India and Canada.
The memorandum of understanding, includes co-branding, events invitation and information sharing between the two entities. Invest Ottawa will scout, evaluate and nominate selected startups from Canada in the space of logistics, security and network, to participate in the accelerator programme, a statement said. This will also help the startups connect with ecosystem partners in Canada and the US, it added.
Invest Ottawa delivers economic development programs and initiatives that generate and accelerate entrepreneurial momentum, business investment and job creation in the City of Ottawa. Its goal is to make Ottawa the best place in Canada to start and grow a knowledge-based business.
Its services include start-up seminars and consulting, business incubation/acceleration and mentorship, global business investment attraction and local business retention/expansion, targeted sector development, commercialization of research and innovation, and marketing Ottawa’s diversified economy and high quality of life.
The GenNext Innovation Hub is a joint initiative of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Microsoft Ventures to develop the startup community across India. The Mumbai-based accelerator had recently announced the graduation of 11 technology startups from its accelerator program. AxleRate, CarIQ, Coitor, Health Vectors, InterviewMocha, Light, LogiNext, Tootle, Oztern, Flexiguru and Fropcorn were the 11 startups.
GenNext Hub helps startups scale up to a minimum viable company by providing them with the critical resources that they need. It has a 4-month immersive program where startups gain access to funding, business mentors, technical and design experts, plug and play office space and other resources. Microsoft Ventures supports GenNext Hub in working with the entrepreneurs and helps them with technology mentoring.
