No matter where you work, or what your job is, there will always be some typical categories of colleagues you will come across. Whether you like it or not, you meet them every day—at the reception, near the coffee machine or even at the office canteen—and there is no escaping them. Take a look around your workplace and you’ll see these different kinds of employees:
The dedicated workaholics
These consist of employees who have made the office a second home (or maybe even the first!) They are present in the office even before anyone else reaches, and invariably, they’re also the last ones to leave. They are kept busy throughout the day, and you will hardly see them leave their desks, even for a break.

The gossip mongers
These social butterflies are found hovering all around the office to gather and share their gossip with others. Whether it’s about the organisation or the industry or just people in general, they keep themselves updated about every little happening around them. Beware, they might even know where you went last evening, with whom and what you did.
The ‘never-say-no-to-food’ gang
The purest form of love is the love for food, and these colleagues swear by this. At any given point of the day, they can be found munching on food. They eat out of your lunch box or order a burger from the nearby popular burger chain, and there is no stopping them. They are the kinds who think a tasty cake is a valid excuse to being late to a meeting by a few minutes.
The ambitious followers
These employees make it a point to follow every one of their boss’ instructions to the point. And, the most obvious reason for this is to climb the ladder of success, or so they like to believe! This group thinks that the best way to impress the boss is to follow them 24x7. They might even replicate every little thing they do.
The unabashed flirts
No matter where you work, there will always be someone in your workplace who is a big-time flirt and is completely unapologetic about it. Such individuals use their charm to impress the folks around them and seek their attention to become popular.
Always pepped up and forever energetic, these people appear extremely excited about everything around them. They have a very positive approach towards life and work, and they spread this infectious ‘happy’ vibe amongst everyone.
The bright performers
These are the stars of the organisation who make everyone proud of them. Typically sincere and passionate about work, they deliver results and live up to the expectations of the management and the clients.
The grumpy faces
No matter where you work, there will always be that one person who is seemingly forever grumpy. They don’t crack any jokes nor are they part of the ‘fun’ plans. Nothing under the sun can make them smile, and if they actually happen to smile, it calls for a celebration in the office!
The late lateefs
They never report to work on time because the word ‘punctuality’ probably doesn’t exist in their dictionary. These individuals are always ready with a wide range of excuses for their late attendance. In case of official meetings, they are asked to arrive at least an hour earlier, for obvious reasons!
No matter how your colleagues are, there is no denying the fact that workplace would be a drag if not for them. Their typical antics provide the daily dose of entertainment in your work life and help you maintain sanity even in the most trying situations at work.
