Ola and Uber now let users book their next cab directly from Google search
Earlier this year, Google had introduced the feature on Google Maps, wherein a dedicated tab with information for cab services was made available to Indian users, in addition to the existing driving, public transport, or walking options.
Now with this integration, commuters across the country can ask Google for directions and book ride services directly from Google Search," Google said in a statement.
They will get to see a tab for ride services, both Uber and Ola, with fare estimates and pick-up times if a car is available near their location, it added. Sanket Gupta, program manager, Google in a statement said,

When a user requests for specific information like 'Taxi to Delhi' or 'Ola/Uber to airport', the Google Search app or browser will direct the user to select a service and automatically opens the app to book the ride. In case the user doesn't have the Ola/Uber app installed on the device, Google Search will show a link to install the app. Sanket said,

Ola, in a statement, said the move helps facilitate Ola's focus on making cab bookings more accessible and seamless for customers everywhere. The new feature will be shown alongside Google’s existing estimates of commuting time via modes like driving, walking, or using public transport like buses.
