Sharlho: The story of a conscious clothing line from a Himalayan Tibetan settlement

Mcleodganj in Himachal Pradesh is home to the Dalai Lama and also the Tibetan government in exile. It has been more than 50 years since the Tibetans found refuge in India but the situation back in their home country hasn't improved yet. Almost two generations have grown up with India as their home and while the Tibetan freedom struggle carries on, there have been efforts made to empower the youth for whom India is home. Many entrepreneurial efforts have come up in Tibetan settlements across India and more are being encouraged.
Tenor Sharlho's clothes line is one such conscious effort that is building a sustainable business by creating employment for the community, using local materials and merging it with new fashion to find a market. At Dharamshala International Film Festival, we caught up with founder Tenor who studied fashion and design at Pearl Academy to learn more about his venture:
