Speaking with Hindustan Times, Ananya's father Dr Chinmoy Kumar, a physician, said,

She loves creative writing and reads a lot of literature.

The Kolkata girl says she wants to study psychology as her major in college. Muskan Abdulla Pathan from Hutchings High School, Pune and Ashwin Rao from St. Paul's English School, Bengaluru were declared as joint toppers of ICSE (10th) boards exam with 99.4 percent marks.

Apart from her excellence in academics, Ananya has a knack for arts and literature and her flair for creative writing got her short story 'Choices' a place in an anthology called The World War I Write In, published by Nivasini Publishers. What makes Ananya more interesting is that she is not on social media. Occasionally, she just logs into her parents' accounts. Apart from putting in a lot of time for preparation, Ananya writes stories and poems and plays the piano. In a chat with Hindustan Times, Seema Sapru, Principal of Ananya's alma mater, Heritage School, said,

I cannot tell you how happy I am. She is a wonderful child. She’s not only brilliant in academics but also in creative writing. What’s more, she’s down to earth and well-behaved.
