Here are the 10 Indian startups Uber is taking to San Francisco

As part of the UberEXCHANGE programme, they will visit Uber’s headquarters to meet the ride-sharing app’s executive leadership team and will also be introduced to potential investors.

At the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 being held in Hyderabad, Uber announced UberEXCHANGE, a programme it launched in 2016.

As a part of this programme, Uber will be taking over 10 startups to San Franciso in an all-expenses-paid trip.

The startup representatives will visit also Uber’s headquarters to meet the ride-sharing app’s executive leadership team and will also be introduced to potential investors.

Launched in 2016, UberEXCHANGE is the San Francisco based unicorn’s mission to create a startup ecosystem in partnership with Invest India. Uber launched this programme along with T-Hub, Telengana’s flagship startup incubator and accelerator.

“Through UberEXCHANGE, several startups in India have benefitted from hands-on mentorship sessions by Uber’s global leadership team. We are looking forward to continuing this partnership to provide a platform that will help many more Indian startups succeed in their entrepreneurial journey,” adds Srinivas Kollipara, COO, T-Hub.

The team claims that since then, close to 150 startups have been mentored by Uber’s senior leadership team. The finalists have been chosen through a rigorous selection process anchored by T-Hub.

“We are very excited to announce the UberEXCHANGE finalists at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017. We launched this programme in partnership with T-hub last year to support the Prime Minister’s Startup India vision. Since then, we have had the opportunity to mentor over 150 startups and be a part of their entrepreneurial journey. We thank the Government of Telangana and T-hub for their continued support in helping us bring this initiative to life,” says Amit Jain, President, Uber India and Southeast Asia.

The 10 startups that will be going to San Francisco include:

Anytimeloan

Founded by Keerthi Kumar Jain, a serial entrepreneur with seven years of banking experience, Anytime Loan allows you to avail a loan within a minute – at any time of the day and at a lower interest rate than regular bank loans. The Hyderabad-based startup aims to maximise wealth for lenders and minimise cost for borrowers. It’s a peer-to-peer lending space, so anyone with Rs 20,000 can become a lender. The firm takes only 20 per cent of the proceeds, leaving the remaining 80 per cent to the lenders. 

carenGrow

A T-Hub incubated startup, carenGrow is a cloud-based healthcare startup. It monitors the physical, psychological, and behavioural health profile of children in schools through various objective and non-invasive decision based intelligent monitoring system. The platform is set to be deployed in schools. carenGrow will focus on interventions, screenings and analyse behavioural changes in school students.

Docturnal

This Hyderabad-based healthcare startup uses non-invasive point of care screening and diagnostic systems for tuberculosis and diabetes-related ailments. The platform uses real-time machine learning to generate results.

Preva Systems

Preva Systems established in 2012 aims to be one of the top three IoT (Internet of Things) solution providers in Asia by 2018. It develops solutions for contextual business automations, based on their flagship IoT cloud platform. It offers end-to-end solutions in the area of real time identification, location, and mobility of things/assets using its IoT platform enriched with analytics for superior business results.

eKincare

Hyderabad-based eKincare is a digital platform that enables users to monitor their medical information and history and view it anywhere, at any time. The technology that the team has built, which is still in the process of being patented, gathers medical results from various healthcare providers, updates profiles, and provides a single repository for users to store all their healthcare episodes. It then identifies potential health risks from the data, and provides a personalised health plan to beat those risks.

Gayam Motors

It is a startup that manufactures electric bikes and smart autos - the first EV in India with automatic battery swapping system. Gayam Motor Works, a bike company in Southeast Asia adds that it signed UberEATS as its first customer for its e-bikes in Singapore, Hongkong and San Francisco.

AlgoSurg

This healthcare startup has built a cloud-based software platform for 'X-ray based 3D surgery planning and patient specific instrument (PSI) design' for deformity correction and replacement surgeries.

Imaginate Software Labs

Imaginate is an Augmented Reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) based technology enterprise, that offers innovative visualization products and services.
