YourStory to honour disruptors, change agents at The Disruptors, Tamil Nadu event in Chennai
Real change comes from disruptive thinking and disruptive innovations. From disruptors – people who challenge the status quo, take risks, and are not afraid to venture into the unknown and attempt something radically new or different.
For this reason, YourStory Media is launching The Disruptors award ceremony, an event to recognise the many change agents in our society. On December 12, YourStory will recognise and honour The Disruptors of Tamil Nadu at the Crowne Plaza,Chennai.
Over the past few years, we have witnessed the impact of such disruptive thinking and innovation in various fields and sectors across India. From disruptors in the fields of education, governance, technology, business, entrepreneurship, art and culture, literature, agriculture, and entertainment – all of whom have made an indelible mark on society with their work and are engineers of change.
Through the #YourStoryDisruptors event, YourStory will celebrate the achievements of each of The Disruptors of Tamil Nadu and their stories of ambition, innovation, foresight, perseverance, and grit in different categories and fields ranging from entrepreneurship to governance to entertainment.
The eminent jury that selected the disruptors of Tamil Nadu included Sushila Ravindranath, senior business journalist, The Chennai Angels, Surendran, Success Gyan, Kavya Nair, Vice President, Advay Capital, Sanjay Enishetty, Partner 50k Ventures, and Dr. Palaniappan, Medway Hospital.

The Disruptors 2018 event details
YourStory Founder & CEO Shradha Sharma will kickstart The Disruptors of Tamil Nadu event with a welcome address and talk, following which she will moderate a panel discussion on How disruptive thinking and innovation can lead to nation building. Joining the panel will be Dheeraj Sinha of Leo Burnett, Dr.Velumani of Thyrocare and Smruti Parida of Nestaway.
“It is going to be an evening of learning as we bring together people from across multiple categories/verticals whose work, impact and innovation has disrupted the markets, thoughts and perception,” says YourStory Founder Shradha Sharma.
The panel discussion will be followed by a presentation on Blockchain, the next disruption by Belfrics Group, one of the leading global blockchain technology firm and cryptocurrency exchanges that has a presence in over 12 countries. Belfrics Founder & CEO Praveen Kumar and Chief Digital & Innovations Officer Santhosh Palavesh will outline the emerging role of blockchain technologists and industries that can benefit from the adoption of blockchain technology as well as detail Belrium, India’s first and only KYC-based blockchain solution.
The highlight of the event will be the felicitation of The Disruptors 2018. The Disruptors will also share their journey so far and success stories. YourStory will also be presenting the Legend of Disruption award to Late Chinni Krishnan who brought about the sachet revolution in the country. His sons CK Kumaravel, CK Ranganathan, CKA and CK Rajkumar will receive the award on his behalf.
Besides recognising the Disruptors, the event intends to inspire many other entrepreneurs and businesses to aspire higher and dream bigger, to understand the tenets of success and be well-equipped to face new challenges and fight them.
