Gastrotope aims to create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem in India in partnership with agritech startups in order to create the farm to fork value chain.
Gastrotope, the agrifood tech accelerator, founded by a team of entrepreneurs from Japan and India, has selected five agritech startups in its first cohort programme. This accelerator programme aims to create new agriculture and foodtech enabled industry ecosystem to create the farm to fork value chain.
Gastrotope was founded by Taizo Son of Mistletoe, and GSF, an accelerator led by serial entrepreneur Rajesh Sawhney and Infobridge.
The five startups selected out of the 150 applications are Brown Foods, Credible, Fasal, Occipital and Triton Foodworks. These startups are focused on different segments of the agricultural ecosystem with the key driver being to deliver services through the adoption of technology.
Brown Foods aims to create next generation packaged food products using data analytics and artificial intelligence.
Credible has created agriculture specific risk management tools, which are AI driven for financial institutions and policy makers to provide valuable insights.
Fasal is an agri-tech platform, which has an AI-powered IoT platform for the agriculture ecosystem that records a variety of growing conditions on the farms to provide insights, which can help farmers increase their productivity.
Occipital Technologies automates the grading and sorting process of fruits and vegetables by using computer vision.
Triton Foodworks is a new-age, precision farming company, which creates ideal conditions for growing pesticide-free fruits and vegetables.
The Gastrotope accelerator programme will help these startups to optimise their business model, achieve product-market fit, and execute a scalable growth strategy. This will include mentoring sessions, networking opportunity, funding advice, etc.
