How India’s biggest logistics partners are leveraging technology to thrive

How India’s biggest logistics partners are leveraging technology to thrive

Wednesday August 18, 2021 , 3 min Read

The e-commerce market, which was estimated to reach $200 billion by 2026, is now poised for further growth after the pandemic. It urged sellers and buyers – who predominantly operated offline – to get online and expand to newer markets with changing demand patterns.

The rise of the e-commerce industry has put yet another sector in the spotlight, one that has been a key enabler in its growth. The e-commerce logistics industry of India is expected to rise to Rs 492.8 billion by 2025, primarily due to increased demand from Tier II and Tier III cities and towns because of availability of affordable internet, rise in per capita income, surge in acceptability of online payment and the introduction of newer market players. The increase in demand means more pressure on logistics partners for flexible and agile solutions.

Leveraging technology for better logistical support

Fast delivery services and better technology to improve the customer experience is essential. To this end, major players are innovating their services to come up with better solutions. From automating supply chains to giving customers seamless end-to-end support, to redefining their return management solutions, logistics firms are determined to stay ahead of the curve and make the most of this e-commerce boost.

Yet there are various challenges that plague the sector such as high costs, ignorance about the right technology and failure to meet demands. Our third and final Shyplite Surge day comes with insights and views to help people tide over these worries.

Shyplite Surge, Shyplite's first-ever mega virtual event, in association with YourStory, to be held from August 19-21, dedicates its final day to understanding the opportunities and challenges associated with the logistics and fulfilment domain. Their panel of experts from the field will share their own tips and stories to help logistics partners and e-commerce business owners keep up with the times.
