The Karnataka government will host its annual technology meet, Bengaluru Tech Summit 2024, from November 19-21 to showcase the technological prowess of the state on a global stage.

“Karnataka is not competing with any state in India but we are competing globally, and we have the capability,” Karnataka IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge said while addressing a press meet on the forthcoming summit on Friday.

The minister emphasised that Karnataka continues to remain the technology capital of the country with the presence of companies from a range of different segments - Indian technology firms, tech MNCs and startups.

Karnataka Chief Minister S Siddaramaiah also had an interactive session with CEOs of companies across the technology industry including IT, semiconductor and electronics, biotech and startups.

Kharge said the government has listened to their views and would come out with newer policies for the growth of the technology sector in the State.

The city of Bengaluru will also host the global TiEsummit for startups later this year, which is expected to see the participation of over 15,000 startups and more than 2,000 venture capitalists, according to the minister.

The theme of Bengaluru Tech Summit 2024 will be “breaking boundaries”, which will have over 85 sessions featuring more than 460 speakers. The three-day conference will cover the segments of IT and deep tech, biotech, startup ecosystem, semiconductor etc.

“Karnataka serves as the headquarters for major tech giants, GCCs, and leading unicorns. This success stems not only from the state's industry-friendly policies and programmes, but also from our active engagement and collaboration with the complete tech ecosystem,” Kharge said.

This year’s summit will have an increased focus on B2B meetings to enable structured and productive sessions. BTS 2024 will also feature a Hackathon where problem statements from various government departments will be presented.

BTS 2024 is expected to have participation from over 40 countries with a footfall of more than 50,000.
