HCL Technologies' chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra has been conferred France’s highest civilian award, the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur.

This honour highlights the growing economic and technological cooperation between France and India, recognising the role of Indian IT companies in contributing to France’s digital ecosystem.

The 'Knight of the Legion of Honour' recognises her contributions to business and sustainability, the company said in a release.

"It is my privilege to receive this honour and it underscores the strategic relationship between India and France," said Roshni Nadar Malhotra.

Underlining that HCLTech has had a longstanding presence in France, a strategic market for the company, she said, "We are committed to scaling our operations in the country and supporting the digital transformation of French businesses through our differentiated portfolio of services."

Executive Director and CEO, HCL Corporation, Malhotra is responsible for strategising the overall direction of the organisation and has been involved in brand planning and CSR. She is an activist for children’s empowerment. As the trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, she focuses on making education accessible to children across India and has established schools and colleges to make this possible.
