Zepto goes Namma Bengaluru; shifts base from Mumbai
Quick commerce platform Zepto joins its peers in Bengaluru, shifting its base from the financial capital to the startup hub.
Aadit Palicha-led Zepto is in the process of consolidating its operations from across cities to Bengaluru, a company spokesperson confirmed to YourStory.
According to a media report, the company stands to save Rs 40-50 lakh a month in rent from the shift.
It is planning to move its headquarters to the Sarjapur-Bellandur stretch, which hosts corporates including Walmart, Adobe, and Rubrik, as well as peers Swiggy and Flipkart, among others. Zepto plans to tap into the networking opportunities and the technological innovation the city offers.
Zepto has nearly 1,000 employees, according to the company’s LinkedIn profile. It is currently headquartered in Mumbai and has a relatively smaller office in Bengaluru.
The company plans to consolidate its operation in the wake of its latest funding round, part of which is expected to be used for expanding the team and operations. In June, the company raised $665 million at a valuation of $3.6 billion. The round witnessed participation from Avenir, Lightspeed, and Avra, along with existing investors.
The development was first reported by Moneycontrol.
