Early stage VC firm 888VC launches Rs 175 Cr fund
This VC firm aims to invest in startups that are in the segments of AI, deeptech and sustainability.
Early-stage venture capital fund 888 VC has launched a Rs 175 crore investment vehicle to back startups in the segments of artificial intelligence, deep tech and sustainability.
According to a statement from the Bengaluru-based VC fund, over the next three years, it plans to invest in startups with an amount ranging from Rs 2 crore to Rs 4 crore. It aims to support those startups which are based in India but have global aspirations.
Rohit Bafna, Founder and CEO of 888VC, said, “India is rapidly becoming the epicentre of next-gen innovation. As per recent data, AI startups in India are projected to cross $17 billion by 2027; deep tech funding is said to have grown 2.5X in the last 3 years, driven by enterprise SaaS and frontier technologies, and sustainability startups have attracted approximately $2.5 billion in 2024 alone, reflecting a global shift towards climate-conscious investments."
The venture firm also unveiled its GRO8, a cross-border investment and mentorship platform. It aims to provide services such as access to capital, mentorship, and market connections.
This VC firm has funded over 20 startups and deployed $12 million plus in syndicated capital. It has presence across India, the UAE and the US.
