Amazon has crossed a major milestone in its India export journey, enabling more than $20 billion in cumulative ecommerce exports through its Amazon Global Selling program, well ahead of its 2025 target. The company has now set a fresh goal to drive $80 billion in cumulative exports from India by 2030.
Launched in 2015, Amazon Global Selling has onboarded over 2 lakh Indian exporters, who have collectively shipped more than 75 crore “Made in India” products to customers worldwide. Over the past year alone, the exporter base on the platform has grown by 33%.
The program has seen participation from sellers across 28 states, seven union territories, and over 200 cities. States such as Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Haryana lead in terms of the number of exporters.
Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling India, said, “Since 2015, Amazon has enabled $20 billion in cumulative ecommerce exports from India, achieving this milestone ahead of the 2025 target.
As we work toward our $80 billion goal by 2030, our focus is on simplifying global selling through technology, capacity building, and ecosystem partnerships.”
According to Amazon, traditional export strengths such as health and personal care, beauty, toys, home, apparel, and furniture have seen strong growth, recording compound annual growth rates (CAGR) between 36% and 45% over the past decade.
Small cities have also emerged as significant contributors. Exporters from Karur (Tamil Nadu) crossed $147 million in sales in 2024, while those from Junagadh (Gujarat) and Anand (Gujarat) recorded $60 million and $44 million, respectively.
Entrepreneurs like Sarvesh Agarwal, founder of HomeMonde—a seller on Amazon Global Selling—say the platform has been instrumental in taking India’s craftsmanship global. “With Amazon Global Selling, we’ve been able to reach eco-conscious buyers worldwide and seamlessly manage logistics through Fulfilment by Amazon,” Agarwal said.
Amazon’s upcoming Exports Digest 2025 will detail the progress of ecommerce exports and the rising global demand for Indian-made goods. The company said it continues to invest in simplifying cross-border trade for MSMEs through initiatives around logistics, payments, compliance, and training.
Amazon Global Selling allows Indian businesses to list their products on 18 global marketplaces, including those in the US, UK, UAE, Germany, France, and Japan. The initiative supports India’s broader ambition of reaching $200–300 billion in ecommerce exports by 2030.
