Foxconn to invest Rs 15,000 Cr in Tamil Nadu, create 14,000 jobs
The Taiwanese giant will bring its next phase of value-added manufacturing, R&D integration, and artificial intelligence-led advanced tech operations to Tamil Nadu.
Taiwanese multinational electronics contract manufacturer Foxconn has committed to invest Rs 15,000 crore in Tamil Nadu, a move that will create 14,000 jobs in the state, according to TRB Rajaa, Minister for Industries, Tamil Nadu.
“Yet another major boost for Tamil Nadu’s electronics and advanced manufacturing sector as Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal met with Foxconn’s India Representative Mr. Robert Wu to reaffirm their deep trust in Tamil Nadu with substantial investment commitments,” Rajaa wrote in a post on X.
The minister noted the Taiwanese giant will bring its next phase of value-added manufacturing, R&D integration and artificial intelligence (AI)-led advanced tech operations to Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu’s investment promotion agency will be the first in India to have a dedicated Foxconn Desk to facilitate faster project coordination and execution.
Foxconn has been rapidly expanding its electronics manufacturing and research footprint in India, with major new investments in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and other states.
As one of Apple’s primary global vendors, these expansionions are a key part of Apple’s strategy to reduce reliance on its Chinese supply chain.
In August 2025, Foxconn began producing the iPhone 17 at its new facility in Devanahalli, near the Bengaluru airport. This $2.8 billion unit is Foxconn’s second-largest manufacturing plant outside of China.
