Ragini Das joins as head of Google for Startups in India
Ragini Das has worked with startups like Zomato (now Eternal) and co-founded a professional networking startup for women called leap.club.
Tech giant Google has onboarded Ragini Das as the head of Google for Startups in India.
With over 12 years of experience, Das has worked with startups like Zomato (now Eternal) and co-founded a professional networking startup for women, leap.club, which paused operations in June this year.
“Sometime in August, I came across a role at Google that perfectly aligned with my journey. The role sat at the intersection of 0–10, founders and everything I've built over the years,” Das wrote in a LinkedIn post.
“After two months of conversations with their fabulous team and learning about the global impact of Google for Startups, I'm excited to bring that same energy to India,” she added.
Google for Startups in India supports the country’s startup ecosystem through various programmes, primarily focusing on advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning. These initiatives provide mentorship, training, and resources to help early-stage startups grow and scale their businesses.
“We’re on a mission to support thriving startups around the world by connecting them to the right people, products and best practices to help them grow. More on what’s coming up in India soon,” Das noted in her post.
Prior to co-founding leap.club in Jan 2020, she worked with foodtech giant Zomato (now Eternal) for over six years. Das also serves in a voluntary role as Chair for the Women in Startups committee at FICCI.
Last month, Google announced that 20 AI startups have joined the latest cohort of its Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First programme.
