AI research startup Redrob raises $10M
The company plans to channel the capital into a series of large-scale initiatives aimed at India’s growing AI-savvy population.
Redrob, an artificial intelligence (AI) research startup, has raised $10 million in Series A funding as it seeks to broaden public access to advanced AI tools across India.
The round was led by Korea Investment Partners, with participation from several other Korean investors including KB Investment and Korea Development Bank Capital.
The latest infusion brings Redrob’s total funding to $14 million following a $4 million seed round in 2023.
The company plans to channel the capital into a series of large-scale initiatives aimed at India’s increasingly AI-aware population. A central pillar of its strategy is to offer free access to the Redrob large language model to all Indian universities from the first quarter of 2026.
Discussions are under way with the Ministry of Education to extend this provision to students nationwide, the firm said, adding that it is also preparing an enterprise suite tailored to small and medium businesses and startups, alongside a commitment to support all major Indian languages by the end of 2026.
Redrob is simultaneously expanding its commercial footprint through its AI Suite. A key element of this is PeopleSearch, a tool that aggregates information from more than nineteen sources to identify relevant accounts and decision makers for sales and recruitment teams.
The company aims to refine its machine learning framework to cut operating costs, develop language models across all 22 constitutionally recognised Indian languages, and build a set of AI tools for learning, career development, and workplace productivity.
Kartikey Handa, Chief Operating Officer and Head of India Operations, noted that advanced AI currently remains out of reach for many people in emerging markets due to high costs and that Redrob’s approach is intended to narrow this gap.
He added that India’s major cities are positioned to shape the next wave of AI innovation, provided the right infrastructure is available to all citizens.
