MeshDefend raises $2.3M pre-seed round led by Kalaari Capital

MeshDefend, a startup developing AI-native infrastructure intelligence for enterprise data systems, on Thursday emerged from stealth with $2.3 million in pre-seed funding led by .
The round, which was oversubscribed by more than 2X, also saw participation from players, including Kettleborough VC and a network of cybersecurity, storage, and enterprise technology veterans.
The startup will use the funding to accelerate product development, strengthen go-to-market execution, and expand MeshDefend’s presence in the US and European markets, alongside partnerships with infrastructure vendors.
MeshDefend, which operates as a vendor-agnostic platform, is also forging partnerships with global system integrators (GSIs), managed service providers (MSPs), and data infrastructure vendors to bring AI-driven operational intelligence to large enterprise environments.
Sampath P, Partner at Kalaari Capital, said that the future of enterprise infrastructure lies in context-aware AI that boosts resilience and ROI.
He added, "MeshDefend’s AI-native Agentic OS embodies that future, bringing automation, security, and intelligence into the heart of data operations. Tejas and Ravi’s combination of technical depth and market understanding makes them ideally suited to shape this transformation. We are excited to partner with them to build the next generation of secure and reliable data infrastructure."
Founded in 2025 by former Dell executives Tejas Pandit and Ravi Chitloor, MeshDefend is building an AI-native operating system for enterprise data infrastructure to help large organisations, MSPs, and GSIs manage, secure, and scale mission-critical systems with higher automation and resilience.
The company’s first product, Agent Mesh, focuses on Day-2 operations for data protection and storage, enabling autonomous and secure management across hybrid and multi-vendor environments.
“We are on a mission to make every organisation’s data infrastructure intelligent, autonomous, and secure. AI has advanced rapidly, yet data infrastructure operations still struggle for intelligence and context. MeshDefend aims to transform that reality by elevating the day-to-day of IT infrastructure teams, starting with backup and storage administrators," Tejas Pandit, Co-founder and CEO, MeshDefend, said.
With enterprises facing rising complexity in managing distributed data systems, MeshDefend’s platform combines expertise in storage, backup, recovery, and cyber resilience with applied AI to reduce operational overhead and improve reliability.
