Urban Company is looking to tighten its grip on India’s fast-evolving home-services market just as a wave of upstarts, including Snabbit and Pronto, backed by venture capital, begins to crowd its turf.

• The company is treating FY26 as a “period of reinvestment”. Much of that reinvestment is flowing into Instahelp, which offers daily housekeeping: maids and domestic help who come to your home regularly.
• “We see Instahelp as a long-term investment, one that deepens customer engagement with our app, improves the frequency of usage, and also expands our overall time,” CEO Abhiraj Singh Bhal told investors in the earnings call.
• The company’s strategy hinges on what it calls “micro-market densification”—packing enough customers and service partners into the same neighbourhood so jobs can be matched nearby, reducing travel time and idle periods for workers.

Simplifying corporate travel

Corporate travel at large organisations is often a complex process. Every trip involves a maze of approvals, policies, budgets, receipts, and reimbursements, each adding friction, delays, and unnecessary costs.

In 2019, Sudheer Reddy and Ranga Prasad Badasheshi decided to simplify this system. They founded TripGain, an enterprise SaaS platform built to bring structure, automation, and clarity to the complex world of business travel and expense management.

Automation and AI:

• When an employee initiates a travel request, TripGain’s AI engine evaluates traveller profiles, company policies, and live pricing to recommend compliant and cost-effective options.
• Its expense management module employs Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract data from receipts, detect duplicates, and automate GST/VAT reconciliation.
• To date, TripGain has completed over 25 HRMS integrations and more than a dozen ERP integrations, while remaining compliant with industry standards.

• Relief: Nexperia BV, the Dutch chipmaker, welcomed recent statements by the US and Chinese governments removing barriers to the company shipping its chips. Nexperia said its focus is now on ensuring the stability of supply to customers.
• Grand opening: Egypt has officially opened what it intends as a cultural highlight of the modern age. The Grand Egyptian Museum, described as the world's largest archaeological museum, is packed with some 100,000 artefacts covering some seven millennia of the country's history.
• Next ISS: SpaceX launched a satellite that could help pave the way for a private space station in the very near future. Haven Demo is a pathfinder for Haven-1, the private space station that US company Vast Space plans to launch to Earth orbit next year.

• Q2 results: More than 650 companies are set to declare the results for the quarter ended September 30, 2025, next week. Some prominent companies scheduled to announce their results include State Bank of India, One 97 Communications (Paytm), Mahindra & Mahindra, InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), Bharti Airtel, Adani Enterprises, and Trent, among others.
• IPO calendar: Groww IPO is all set to hit the primary market on November 4 and will remain open till November 7. The Groww IPO is a book-built issue totalling Rs 6,632.30 crore, comprising a fresh issue of 10.60 crore shares worth Rs 1,060 crore and an offer for sale of 55.72 crore shares. Meanwhile, Lenskart Solutions’ IPO will end on November 4, even as the public issue was fully subscribed on Friday. The company will mop up a sum of Rs 7,278.02 crore from the primary markets.
