Apple to launch Fitness+ in India on Dec 15, subscription priced at Rs 149 per month
Apple’s fitness and wellness platform, Fitness+, is set for its biggest global rollout yet, allowing users access to the service’s 12 workout types.
Apple is launching its fitness and wellness service, Fitness+, in India on December 15, the company announced in an official statement on Monday, December 8. The service is priced at Rs 149 per month, or Rs 999 annually, and can be shared with up to five other family members.
It is a part of the service’s largest expansion since its launch five years ago.
Apple is expanding the service to 27 other countries, and with this expansion, users across 49 countries and regions will be able to access the service’s 12 workout types.
“From seeing real-time, personal metrics right onscreen with Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3, to the ability to bring the service with you wherever you go on iPhone or iPad…Fitness+ has helped inspire users to live a healthier day,” Jay Blahnik, Vice President of Fitness Technologies, Apple, said in a release issued by the company.
Fitness+ supports workout types including strength, yoga, HIIT, pilates, dance, cycling, kickboxing, and meditation. It will feature episodes from five to 45 minutes on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.
Furthermore, users can view personal metrics like heart rate, calories burned, and progress on their activity rings directly onscreen. With custom plans, Fitness+ automatically creates a personalised schedule based on users’ workout and meditation preferences, including their top activities, durations, trainers, and music, among others. Fitness+ is integrated with Apple Music and offers music across genres.
Fitness+ is already available in 21 markets including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Brazil, France, Italy and Germany. The release also announced that dubbing in German and Spanish would be available starting December 15 as well.
Apple will roll out the service in Japan starting early next year, with Japanese dubbing.
Three months of the service will be included for customers who purchase a new device—watch, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV (capable of running the latest operating system), AirPods Pro 3, and Powerbeats Pro 2.
The service is supported on iPhone 8 or later versions, with iOS 16.1 or later.
