Gemini tops Google India’s AI search trends for 2025
From AI assistants, chatbots to image-generation tools, India’s search habits in 2025 signal how AI has embedded itself into everyday digital behaviour.
Artificial intelligence (AI) dominated India’s search habits in 2025, according to Google’s ‘India’s Year in Search 2025’ report.
The race to the top trending searches for AI was led by Google Gemini, followed by a list of image-generation tools and chatbot alternatives. This reflects the country’s rapid shift toward everyday AI use.
Beyond Gemini, related queries such as Gemini AI Photo, at #2, also surged, reflecting rising interest in AI-enhanced image creation and editing. This suggests that users are increasingly generating and refining photos through conversational prompts rather than using traditional editing tools.

Among other major players, Grok, DeepSeek, and Perplexity ranked three, four and five, respectively.
Google’s developer-focused tool, Google AI Studio, ranked at #6, pointing to a growing segment of Indian users seeking hands-on ways to build or fine-tune AI models.
Meanwhile, ChatGPT ranked at #7, followed by ChatGPT Ghibli Art at #8.
Trends around Flow (#9) and Ghibli Style Image Generator (#10) further reinforce India’s shift toward using AI for entertainment, visual storytelling, and social media content. These tools, known for producing animation-inspired renderings, suggest that AI creativity has become both accessible and shareable.
Overall, the list reflects a year in which AI moved far beyond niche tech circles. From productivity tools and developer platforms to stylised art generators, India’s search habits in 2025 revealed a population rapidly adopting the next wave of AI-driven digital culture.
