Bharat Forge partners with Germany’s Agile Robots to revolutionize industrial automation
Bharat Forge partners with Germany's Agile Robots SE to drive AI-led industrial automation. The strategic pact targets automotive, healthcare, and electronics sectors to boost manufacturing efficiency and precision in civilian industries.
Bharat Forge on Thursday said it has inked a pact with Germany-based Agile Robots SE to explore a strategic collaboration in AI-driven robotics and intelligent industrial automation.
Driven by Bharat Forge’s extensive domain expertise and Agile Robots’ ingenious intelligent robots and automation solutions, this collaboration will see the deployment of cutting-edge solutions for the automotive, healthcare, and consumer electronics industries, the company said in a statement. The partnership is focused exclusively on civilian industry and manufacturing.
This strategic move aligns with a major shift in the global technology landscape, where robotics and AI, once considered science fiction, are moving beyond research labs to tackle pressing real-world challenges. By enabling machines to perceive, reason, and act with greater autonomy, these technologies are reshaping industry operations, bringing adaptability, precision, and scalability to diverse fields.
"This strategic collaboration with Agile Robots is a reinforcement of Bharat Forge’s ambition to provide state-of-the-art intelligent robotic and automation solutions across multiple industries while driving manufacturing efficiencies at home," said Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director, Bharat Forge.
The push for manufacturing efficiency mirrors recent advancements by deeptech innovators like Bengaluru-based CynLr. Just as Bharat Forge aims to modernize production, companies like CynLr are addressing core limitations in industrial automation by developing vision platforms inspired by the human eye. These innovations allow robots to identify and manipulate objects in unstructured environments without relying on pre-programmed routines.
Agile Robots Executive Director Rory Sexton said that by partnering with Bharat Forge, the company is strengthening its position in India's rapidly growing manufacturing sector. "Combining Agile Robots' proven leadership in AI-driven robotic automation with Bharat Forge’s sectoral expertise will allow us to improve the efficiency and precision of entire production systems," he added.
The collaboration’s focus on healthcare and civilian industries also reflects a wider trend of deeptech startups blending AI and robotics to solve everyday challenges. For instance, Kochi-based Asimov Robotics has been pioneering this space by developing medical assistive robots for surgeries and hospital logistics, integrating machine vision and autonomous navigation to automate high-risk tasks.
Furthermore, the integration of AI into industrial processes is becoming ubiquitous. Companies like Haber are already utilizing AI-driven analytics and robotic sampling to optimize water and chemical management in sectors ranging from steel to food and beverages, while autonomous innovations from Swaayatt Robots are tackling India’s complex logistics and transport conditions.
Through this partnership, Bharat Forge joins a growing ecosystem where deeptech solutions are continuously reimagining industrial automation, redefining digital workflows, and making technology more responsive to human and industrial needs.
