Agritech startup Verdant Impact has raised $3 million in a seed round led by Unicorn India Ventures. The round also saw participation from Infynyte Club, Yash Kotak, Alok Soni, and a-IDEA NAARM.
The funds will be used to expand Verdant's team and its presence in the northern and northeastern regions of the country, and on research and development. A portion of the capital will also be used to enhance the Pashu.AI platform capabilities and upgrade tech infrastructure with blockchain integration, the company said in a statement.
Pashu AI is an artificial intelligence platform for comprehensive livestock health monitoring, genetic diversity tracking, and farm management. The company had recently launched this product along with Bharat Pashudhan, an IoT-enabled device designed for real-time herd management and health monitoring.
Verdant Impact is an AI-led bovine genetics company. Bovine genetics is the study and application of cattle DNA to improve traits such as milk yield, meat quality, and health.
The company says it has served over 6 lakh farmers till date. It also says it has achieved 8X revenue growth since its last funding round in March 2025 and aims to reach Rs 100 crore in revenue by March 2026 while staying profitable.
“Climate change is affecting every element of our food chain, and livestock is no different. To see deeptech and IoT capabilities being leveraged to improve the quality of livestock and monitoring their health is a groundbreaking move to enhance milk production. Verdant has demonstrated that social impact can be brought without losing focus on business growth,” said Anil Joshi, Managing Partner, Unicorn India Ventures.
