In Basti, Uttar Pradesh, furniture and woodcraft form the ODOP-notified category, supported under the One District One Product (ODOP) programme. The district is home to small and mid-sized manufacturing units that undertake customised orders and execute complete fit-outs for both residential and institutional clients.
One such unit is led by Ishwarram Mishra, who manufactures and supplies furniture across categories, ensuring that installation is integrated into the delivery process. The ODOP framework, he notes, has enabled district-level facilitation, subsidised exhibition participation, and financial assistance for unit expansion.

The process begins with detailed planning. A dedicated design team develops layouts tailored to household and institutional requirements, balancing aesthetics with structural practicality. Once finalised, raw materials are procured and inspected to maintain production standards.
