Meesho acquires B2B commerce platform Kirana Club for Rs 202 Cr
The acquisition gives Meesho deeper access into the grocery market and a platform for B2B play across categories.
Meesho, one of the leading Indian e-commerce platforms, has acquired B2B commerce platform Kirana Club for a cash consideration of Rs 202 crore.
The acquisition gives Meesho deeper access into the grocery market and a platform for B2B play across categories, especially in Tier II cities and markets beyond. Following the acquisition, Kirana Club will continue to operate independently within the Meesho group, the company said in a statement.
Founded in 2020 by Anshul Gupta and Aishwarya Jain, Kirana Club connects kirana shop owners with FMCG brands and distributors, primarily across Tier II to IV towns and rural India. It has 4.1 million registered retailers.
“Kirana Club has built deep trust among small retailers through its asset-light and community-first approach. We see significant opportunities to strengthen access, transparency and product discovery for kiranas in underserved markets across India, and also extend this to all forms of B2B retail across India.” said Vidit Aatrey, Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Meesho.
The mobile-first platform of Kirana Club enables retailers to discover, compare, and order FMCG and grocery products directly from brands, through a marketplace.
Meesho said the acquisition gives the company access to the $650-billion grocery market and general trade channels through its B2B platform. The acquisition will also enable expansion of digital commerce access for India’s 13 million+ kiranas, the company said in a statement.
For Kirana Club, the acquisition provides an opportunity to integrate with Meesho’s broader ecosystem, including its logistics capabilities, supplier network, and marketplace infrastructure.
“Over the last few years, we have built deep trust with kirana retailers by combining community, local insights and commerce. Meesho understands Bharat at scale and shares our belief in serving underserved users through technology,” said Anshul Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of Kirana Club.
For the third quarter of FY26, Meesho reported a revenue of Rs 3517.5 crore, at a 32% annual growth, but losses expanded nearly 13-fold. The loss for the quarter was Rs 490.7 crore, compared to Rs 37.4 crore in the third quarter of FY25.
