MoEngage acquires San Francisco-based AI infra startup Aampe
The acquisition of Aampe marks a strategic move by MoEngage to expand its AI-powered marketing platform, helping brands deliver highly personalised customer experiences at scale.
Bengaluru- and San Francisco-headquartered SaaS company MoEngage has acquired San Francisco-based AI infrastructure startup Aampe for an undisclosed amount.
In a statement, MoEngage said the acquisition strengthens its AI-powered marketing capabilities. While the company has been building AI-driven marketing workflows through its Merlin AI platform, Aampe adds advanced agentic decision-making technology to its offerings.
According to MoEngage, Aampe’s AI agents independently determine the most effective message, timing, frequency, and communication channel for each individual user, continuously learning and improving based on outcomes.
"Aampe has built something the rest of the market hasn't cracked: a system that continuously optimises content, timing, channel, and frequency together at an individual level….Together, we're building the future of agentic marketing,” said Raviteja Dodda, Co-founder & CEO, MoEngage.
As part of the acquisition, Aampe's founding team, which includes Paul Meinshausen, Schaun Wheeler, and Sami Abboud, will join MoEngage to lead its Agentic decisioning initiatives.
Aampe Co-founder and CEO Paul Meinshausen said, “MoEngage gives us the infrastructure, channel depth, and customer relationships to make that the default for every brand, not the exception.”
According to MoEngage, the acquisition unlocks what it calls “start anywhere" approach where B2C brands can plug Aampe's per-user agents into their existing customer engagement or marketing automation platform without any disruption.
Founded in 2014 by Raviteja Dodda and Yashwant Kumar, MoEngage provides technology solutions that drive customer engagement for brands. With presence across North America, EMEA and Asia, the company’s tech platform is used by over 1,350 global consumer brands such as Flipkart, Domino's, Airtel, Swiggy, Coca-Cola, Policybazaar, Soundcloud, etc.
In December 2025, MoEngage raised an additional $180 million as part of its Series F funding round taking the total capital raised in the round to $280 million. In November last year it had raised $100 million in the first close of the Series F round.
