Pet healthcare startup Vetic raises $40M led by Bessemer Venture Partners
Vetic will use the fresh capital to expand its clinic network and also to enhance the technology platform
Vetic, a national pet healthcare network, has raised $40 million in funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), with participation from existing investors Greenoaks Capital, Lachy Groom, and JSW Family Office.
Vetic will utilise this funding round to scale its clinic network and veterinary team, which is expected to double its current capacity. It also plans to launch Vet at Home services in next six months while also expanding its pet insurance and wellness plans. The startup also plans to invest in its technology and AI platform.
According to Vetic, India has seen a shift in spending and treatment of pets. But at the same time, the entire petcare network is fragmented and unorganised.
Founded in 2022 by Gaurav Ajmera, Vetic at present has over 65 clinics across 11 cities and also services like e-pharmacy and pet supplies. It has a network of over 250 veterinarians.
“Vetic is building a connected system where consultations, clinics, medicines, diagnostics, insurance, recovery, and wellness all work together not just to improve efficiency, but to help people care better for the pets they love. Because our pets deserve human-grade care." said Gaurav Ajmera, Founder & CEO, Vetic.
Vetic has also built its proprietary operating system which captures the longitudinal health records for every pet. It has also leveraged AI across touchpoints which allows for more triaging of pet parents, supporting veterinarians with diagnostic intelligence, and delivering personalised guidance through the Vetic app.
“Gaurav and his team have turned a fragmented, doctor-led trade into a genuine consumer healthcare platform, with the unit economics and clinical standards to prove it. We're continuing to double down on the journey with them because category leaders compound, and Vetic is the category leader in this space,” said Vishal Gupta, Partner, Bessemer Venture Partners.
