Hello,
After disrupting India’s telecom market, Jio now has its sights set on indigenous communications satellites for improved connectivity, Jio Platforms managing director Akash Ambani said on Friday.
India’s satellite communications segment is currently dominated by foreign companies like Elon Musk-led Starlink and French service provider Eutelsat, per an article in PTI. While speaking at the 49th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limited, Ambani said Jio is also partnering with a global constellation for leasing satellite capacity.
Meanwhile, the board of Jio Platforms Ltd has approved filing draft papers for an initial public offering involving a fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 each. The issue price will be determined through a book-building process in accordance with SEBI regulations.
The listing comes at a time when India's primary market is struggling. After a record run of public offerings over the past two years, investor sentiment has weakened amid geopolitical tensions and volatility in global energy markets.
Lastly, relying too much on chatbots can reduce critical thinking skills, a study from Massachusetts Institute of Technology has found. In particular, users lost the ability to discern fake news the more they used tools like ChatGPT and Claude.

Missing women security professionals
Around 74% of security professionals face gender-based discrimination, The Women in Security Survey (WISS) has found.
Conducted by IIRIS Consulting in partnership with the CII Centre of Women Leadership, the survey highlights that the representation gap remains a persistent challenge in the security sector. According to WISS 2026, 92.7% of organisations report having formal inclusion policies, flexible work arrangements or DEI frameworks in place.
Key takeaways:
- A majority (84.5%) of respondents said women remain underrepresented across security functions, while an overwhelming 96.8% agreed that organisations need to create more opportunities for women in these roles.
- Nearly 90% of respondents said their organisations have formal DEI policies (89.6%) and gender-neutral policy frameworks (90.7%), while 91.2% reported initiatives to address unconscious bias.
- Despite these gains, workplace culture remains the biggest obstacle to women's participation. 39.7% identified stereotypes and male-dominated work environments as the primary barriers preventing more women from pursuing careers in security.
