Meta recently rolled out its new AI image generator called Muse Image. The feature is now available for free through the Meta AI app, as well as on Instagram. One particular feature, which lets users manipulate other Instagram users’ profile image, has drawn concern over privacy.
In response, Meta has said it has placed controls that will allow people to disable this feature if they wish to.
Speaking of Meta, the company has outlined its efforts to combat child sexual abuse material (CSAM) across its apps, highlighting AI-powered detection and large-scale enforcement actions. The statement comes days after the government issued a notice over such images.
Meanwhile Google has selected 20 Indian AI-first startups for the 2026 cohort of its Google for Startups Accelerator, underscoring how the country’s AI ecosystem is moving beyond general-purpose language models. The three-month, equity-free programme is marking the tenth anniversary of Google’s accelerator initiatives in India.
Selected startups span a wide range of sectors such as Adalat AI, which focuses on judicial technology, and Aikenist and FlexifyMe in healthcare.
