How FLiCKA built trust to become India’s fastest growing beauty brand
Mohit Pardasani’s decades of retail experience, a retail‑first strategy, and a conviction in quality over marketing have powered FLiCKA’s rise to a Rs 100 crore cosmetics brand.
Mohit Pardasani has a simple belief that has guided every decision at FLiCKA Cosmetics since he co-founded the company in 2018: build something so good that people come back to it on their own. "Consistency is its own kind of magic," he says. "If you can make someone trust you once, and then trust you again, you have built something that lasts."
That belief has translated into real, compounding growth. FLiCKA has grown into a business with over 2,200 retail touchpoints and more than 350 exclusive beauty counters across India. Its portfolio spans over 400 products across face, eyes, lips, nails and accessories categories. The company closed FY26 with revenue of about Rs 100 crore.
For Pardasani, those numbers are proof of something he has believed from the very start: trust, once earned, becomes the strongest growth engine a brand can have.
Building on a retail insight
Pardasani did not enter the beauty business through the usual door. He trained in finance and had planned to pursue CA before joining his family's cosmetics retail business, a company built over three decades on relationships with distributors and retailers across the country. It was on the retail floor, not in a boardroom, that he started thinking about what was actually missing in the market.
"I watched women walk in wanting quality and walking out compromising. Either the product they trusted was priced out of reach, or the one they could afford didn't perform," he says. "That gap sat with me for years before it became a business idea."
That observation led him to partner with Priyanka Nawani in 2018 and launch FLiCKA Cosmetics, with a simple thesis: that Indian consumers did not need to choose between quality and affordability; they had simply never been offered both at once.
A conviction in building trust first
FLiCKA built its foundation through physical retail before expanding online, a sequencing Pardasani describes as one of the most important calls the company made early on. “Cosmetics are personal. People want to swatch a shade, feel a texture, ask a question," he says. “We wanted our first conversation with every customer to happen in person, because that is where real trust gets built.”
That conviction shaped FLiCKA's early years and gave the brand a strong, loyal base before it ever asked customers to buy online. By the time FLiCKA expanded to Nykaa, Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart and Tira, and later to quick commerce platforms like Blinkit and Zepto, it was scaling on top of relationships that already existed, giving the brand a head start most new entrants do not have.
A clear philosophy on what makes a product last
Ask Pardasani what he believes sets a cosmetics brand apart, and he does not talk about packaging or marketing spends. He talks about formulation. "Every product we ship has to genuinely work for Indian skin tones and Indian weather," he says. "We would rather take the time to get a formulation right than rush something out. That patience is what earns a customer's loyalty."
That approach has shaped FLiCKA's roughly 400 product portfolio, all vegetarian, paraben free and cruelty free, and formulated specifically with Indian conditions in mind. The company's Silk Touch 3-in-1 primer and moisturizer currently ranks as the top seller in its category on both Nykaa and Amazon, a data point Pardasani points to as evidence that formulation, not marketing, is what drives repeat purchase.
"If the consumer is king, quality is queen," he says. "Marketing gets someone to buy once. Only the product itself gets them to come back."
Reading where the next wave of growth sits
With nearly Twenty Five lakh consumers already using FLiCKA products, the founder’s attention has shifted to where the next phase of growth will come from, and he is convinced it will not be metro India.
"Tier II and Tier III India is one of the most exciting opportunities in this industry," he says. "Women there want the same quality products as anyone else, and I believe we are just at the beginning of being able to reach them."
That belief is now shaping FLiCKA's expansion strategy, as the company pushes deeper into smaller cities where its retail-first approach, built over the last several years, gives it an advantage that purely online brands do not have.
Looking back at how the business started, Pardasani is careful not to overstate the ambition behind it. "I did not set out thinking I would build a brand that disrupts the industry," he says. "It started with something much smaller, a pattern I kept noticing across a retail counter, and a stubbornness about wanting to fix it."
Three decades of family retail experience and one clear observation later, that stubbornness has become a Rs 100 crore business. Pardasani is now betting its next chapter will look a lot like its first: built slowly, on trust that has to be earned one customer at a time.
