AlgoFET builds the docking stations that let drones recharge without a person present
The Bengaluru-based company makes autonomous docking, charging and battery management infrastructure, so that a drone can land, recharge and fly again on its own.
Drone autonomy stops at the ground. A machine can fly a route, avoid obstacles, capture what it needs and return without human input, and then it sits there until somebody walks over, swaps the battery and sends it up again. For a single survey flight, that does not matter. For a system meant to patrol a perimeter or inspect a pipeline continuously, it is the whole problem.
The bottleneck is not the drone. It is everything the drone lands on: a station that can receive it precisely, connect to it, charge it fast without damaging the battery, protect it from weather, and report its condition to whoever is running the fleet.
builds that. Incorporated in Bengaluru in December 2023 by Ankit Mishra, an IIT Guwahati alumnus, the company describes an integrated stack covering autonomous docking, battery management, high-power charging, embedded electronics, firmware and cloud-based fleet monitoring.
Everything the drone lands on
Splitting that list apart shows the range of engineering involved. Precision landing needs the drone to find the pad within centimetres. High-power charging needs to move energy quickly without degrading the cells. Battery management needs to know the health of every pack in the fleet, because a battery that fails in the air is a falling object.
The company builds the electronics and the firmware as well as the hardware, and runs a cloud platform on top so that an operator can see the state of a fleet rather than of one aircraft. It works from a 12,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Bengaluru.
Its institutional base is ARTPARK, the robotics and AI research park at the Indian Institute of Science, and it has been part of a programme there for deep-technology startups working on robotics and autonomous systems.
India restricted imports of finished drones in 2022, which created a domestic manufacturing industry almost overnight. Most of the attention and most of the capital went to the aircraft themselves; the ground equipment they depend on drew far less, which is the opening the company is working in.
The customers this points at are the ones running drones continuously rather than occasionally: defence users, agriculture, logistics, surveillance and infrastructure inspection. The company sells to drone manufacturers as well as to end users, which puts it in the supply chain rather than in competition with it.
Rs 15 crore, and a claimed order book
In August 2026, AlgoFET raised Rs 15 crore in a pre-Series A round from Piper Serica. The money is for developing the next generation of products, expanding in-house manufacturing, building intellectual property and extending deployments into defence, enterprise and international markets.
The traction figures it gives with that announcement are substantial for a company under three years old. It says it has deployed more than 2,000 units, has an order pipeline exceeding 4,000 units, and holds an order book worth around Rs 100 crore, working with drone manufacturers and the Indian Army.
Those numbers are the company's own, and none have been independently verified.
What is verifiable is smaller. Company records list ten employees as of April 2026, and until this month's round, no funding had been recorded at all. A company of that size holding a Rs 100 crore order book would be an unusual position, and it is one the desk should treat as the company's claim rather than an established figure.
