PB Fintech net profit up 92% in Q1 of FY27
PB Fintech reported healthy growth in the insurance premium business and credit segment
PB Fintech, the parent company of online insurance platform PolicyBazaar, registered a 92% increase in net profit for the first quarter of FY27 and revenue rose by 40% during this period.
The net profit for the first quarter came in at Rs 163 crore as compared to Rs 85 crore a year ago. The revenue during this period stood at Rs 1,888 crore as against Rs 1,348 crore in the first quarter of FY26.
The company which has two main lines of businesses, insurance and credit, said the total insurance premium for the first quarter was Rs 8,372 crore which was a 41% year-on-year (YoY) increase. PB Fintech noted that the growth in core online new protection business was 53% YoY and it was a 59% YoY rise in the new health insurance segment.
PB Fintech said the core credit revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 127 crore which was a 25% YoY growth while disbursals saw 33% rise YoY to touch Rs 2,776 crore.
The company has 158.9 million registered consumers and 28.1 million transacting consumers till date. PB Fintech said it continues to improve its customer onboarding and claims support services with insurance customer satisfaction score being above 90%.
PB Fintech has over 500,000 advisors on its platform and the company noted that it has moved increasingly towards smaller and higher quality advisors. The active partner count increased to 1.13 lakh in the first quarter of FY27 which was 55% YoY growth.
On its overseas business, PB Fintech said the UAE insurance premium grew by 31% YoY and aligned more towards the health & life insurance similar to the India business. It said this business continues to remain profitable for FY26 and in the first quarter of FY27.
