BHIM MyUPI brings 9 UPI services into one AI assistant
BHIM MyUPI lets users track transactions, manage Autopay mandates, raise complaints and check fraud risks through a conversational assistant inside the BHIM app.
UPI support is getting a chat window. BHIM MyUPI, launched by NPCI BHIM Services Limited, brings nine UPI-related services into an AI-powered assistant within the BHIM Payments App.
Launched at Global Fintech Fest 2026, MyUPI offers 24/7 assistance in everyday language, allowing users to check transactions, raise complaints, manage mandates and access safety tools without moving between multiple screens or support channels.
The feature currently supports English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Bengali, with more regional languages planned.
MyUPI puts UPI support in one place
MyUPI lets users view UPI transactions across their linked bank accounts and UPI apps in one place. They can select a transaction and seek help directly within the BHIM app.
The assistant also handles eligible payment complaints. Users can raise an issue, receive a complaint reference number and track its status without leaving the app.
Another feature, Transaction Replay, lets users re-initiate eligible earlier UPI payments, including P2P and P2M transactions originally made through another UPI app. Any new payment still requires authentication through the UPI PIN.
Recurring payments get a similar treatment. MyUPI provides a consolidated view of UPI Autopay mandates across linked accounts and apps. Users can view mandate details and, where permitted, pause, resume or cancel them.
Users can also de-link their mobile-linked UPI Number if they no longer want to receive payments through it, while continuing to receive money through their UPI ID where applicable.
A safety check before the money moves
MyUPI brings security tools into the same conversational interface.
Its Pay Safe feature allows users to enter a UPI ID or upload a QR code to verify the payee name before making a payment. The idea is simple: check who is receiving the money before sending it.
There is also a Safety Switch for situations such as a lost phone, suspected account compromise, unexpected debit or suspicious message. Users can use it to block a linked bank account and prevent further transactions from that account.
The assistant can also answer questions about suspected scam messages and commonly reported UPI fraud methods.
Payment actions continue to require authentication through the user's UPI PIN, so the conversational interface does not replace the existing payment authorisation process.
Making UPI support more conversational
The multilingual approach could matter as digital payments spread beyond India's major cities. For users who find conventional app menus difficult to navigate, asking a question in a familiar language could offer a simpler way to find the right support option.
MyUPI is available through the Quick Actions section of the BHIM Payments App, bringing transaction information, complaints, mandates and safety controls into a single interface.
Lalitha Nataraj, Managing Director and CEO of NPCI BHIM Services Limited, said MyUPI is intended to add a “proactive trust layer” to BHIM, helping users seek information, resolve concerns and take action with greater clarity.
For BHIM, the bigger test now is whether that conversational layer can make UPI easier to understand when a payment fails, a mandate needs attention, or something looks suspicious.
