India’s semiconductor sector has secured $1.4 billion in total equity funding to date across 281 companies, with $701 million raised since 2025, according to Tracxn data.
The data come days ahead of SEMICON India 2026, the country's flagship semiconductor conference and exhibition, which will be held from September 17-19 at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi.
Meanwhile, the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), a biosciences research and innovation hub, has selected 15 startups and four teams for its National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC) 2026.
According to a statement, the winning startups received a total of Rs 35 crore in cash prizes and investment opportunities, while student-led teams secured Rs 4 lakh in cash prizes. This is the 9th edition of NBEC, a flagship platform of C-CAMP that aims to identify future bioscience entrepreneurs.

Deepinder Goyal partners with Art of Living to track meditation via Temple device
Deepinder Goyal, Founder of Eternal, has announced a research collaboration between his wearable health technology venture, Temple, and the Sri Sri Institute for Advanced Research (SSIAR), which is the research arm of the Art of Living foundation.
The partnership aims to study and measure the physiological effects of various meditation practices using Entropy, a proprietary biomarker developed by Temple.
