InsuranceDekho, RenewBuy announce merger to build pan-India insurance distribution platform
The combined entity will have a pan-India presence, with a premium book of over Rs 6,600 crore in FY26.
Two insurtech startups, InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy, have announced a merger to build a pan-India insurance distribution platform.
According to a company statement, the combined entity will bring together InsuranceDekho’s strong presence in northern and western India with RenewBuy’s network in the south. The merged business will have a premium book of over Rs 6,600 crore, more than six lakh digital partners, and coverage across 98.57% of India’s pin codes as of March 31, 2026.
The combined business will operate under the InsuranceDekho brand, with Ankit Agrawal, Founder of InsuranceDekho, leading the unified entity.
The founders of both companies will continue with the merged organisation, the statement said, ensuring continuity in leadership, execution, and long-term strategy.
Together, the two companies have facilitated the issuance of more than two crore insurance policies since inception as of March 31, 2026.
On the merger, Ankit Agrawal, Founder & CEO, InsuranceDekho, said, "This combination brings together complementary strengths in technology, on-ground distribution and insurer partnerships. Our immediate focus is disciplined execution and seamless integration."
The combined company’s technology strengths are expected to support automated partner onboarding which will include integrated digital onboarding, policy issuance and AI-powered advisory. This development is also expected to work on the intersection of insurance, AI and distribution.
RenewBuy CEO Balachander Sekhar said, “By pairing technology depth with skilled on-ground partner network capabilities, we can equip insurance partners with smarter tools and seamless digital experiences - and, through them, aim to bring insurance within reach of every Indian.”
InsuranceDekho’s portfolio spans motor, health, life, travel, and corporate insurance, offering 750+ insurance products from 52 insurers. This startup has raised funding from Beams Fintech Fund and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. RenewBuy is backed by Dai-ichi-Life Holdings.
Both these startups are headquartered in Gurugram.
