Reliance Consumer enters ice cream market with Bombay Creamery
Reliance Consumer will initially launch Bombay Creamery in Western India before taking the brand nationwide.
Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has entered the ice cream market with products starting at Rs 10.
The company’s ice cream brand, Bombay Creamery, will offer a range of products based on its stated proposition of “global quality at an affordable price”.
The range will include cones, cups, tubs, bars, and sticks. Bombay Creamery products are currently available in Western India, with RCPL planning a pan-India rollout soon.
“We built Bombay Creamery around one simple idea that dairy shouldn't need shortcuts. RCPL is not just entering the ice cream category — we're committing to it. Made with real dairy cream, Bombay Creamery guarantees the promise of genuine taste of a real ice cream every single time, at a price every Indian family can afford,” said T Krishnakumar, Director, Reliance Consumer Products Limited.
The company said its national distribution network, retail scale, and consumer insights position it to build a long-term presence in the ice cream category.
Reliance Consumer Products has a presence across categories including beverages, food and snacks, personal care, and home and fabric care. The company has entered several of these segments with competitively priced products aimed at mass-market consumers.
